Public-private partnerships such as that proposed for Town Branch Park are a proven model used by our nation’s most prominent parks, but it will require all of us to ensure its success. Designing, building, and managing a world-class park at the level our residents deserve will require substantial private investment. Town Branch Fund first completed an extensive fundraising feasibility study that showed Lexington has the affinity and capacity to build Town Branch Park and set a fundraising target of $31 million. Since that time, the Fund has secured over $7 million in pledged funding from local donors toward the $31 million goal. Private donations will complement the city’s public investment of the land, allowing the Fund to finalize the design, engineering, and construction of the Park
